Delta Reserve Card

Summary: The Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card is a top-tier airline card designed almost exclusively for frequent Delta flyers who want premium airport lounge access and a serious fast-track toward Delta Medallion elite status. It carries a $650 annual fee, but it provides deep airline-specific utility that easily outpaces general travel cards if you live in a Delta hub or fly the airline multiple times a year. Though the Amex Platinum card also provides Delta lounge access and better extra points on Delta flights and the Delta Gold is a better cheaper alternative for most.

Personal Experience: Because I live in Utah, I frequently fly at the Salt Lake City airport, which Delta is the main airlines for both lounges and flights. My main use of this card is the 15% bookings with points as obtaining the SUB makes it very long for me to run out of points and resort to cash.

    Pros

  • 15% off all Delta flights w/ points
  • Delta Sky Club w/ guest passes
  • Delta is the best airlines/rewards
  • Cons

  • Amex Plat is better for most
  • No credit for Delta flights
  • Credits will not be more than fee
